The Midland Game Fair – Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September @ Weston Park

The highlight of many sporting enthusiasts calendar, the Midland Game Fair is very much welcomed back this September, with lots of family entertainment back in the Main Arena, an array of Grand Finals in many sporting disciplines plus an increasing portfolio of countryside activities for everyone to get involved in and enjoy.

Falconry Fun
For years the Midland has remained one of the most celebrated and most highly anticipated outdoor events in the National Shooting calendar. Welcoming visitors in their thousands, the event welcomes every type of visitor through its gates, from the seasoned airgunner to the budding dog handler through to families simply wanting to shop the stores and try lots of countryside activities.

For 2014, visitors to the event can expect lots of exciting things to come, including medieval jousters the Knights of Middle England, the Shetland Pony Grand National, the Essex Dog Display Team, as well as old favourites Ye Olde Redtail Falconry, Cyril the Squirrel and Countryside Heavy Horses. Over in the Countryside Arena, visitors can look forward to lots of gundog demonstrations from the likes of Ribblesdale Labradors and Will Cluelee and the fantastic Carry On’s Flyball Display Team.

With fishing’s finest demonstrating in the Fishing Village, the UK’s favourite falconers in the Falconry Village, this year’s final event of the season has plenty for everyone to experience. This year’s sporting line up also includes the Great Wall Motor World Series Clay Shooting Final, the Great Wall Motor World Series Gundog Championship Final with Chudleys, the European Field Target Championship and the Countryman’s Weekly Champion of Champions in the Terrier and Lurcher events.

Along with championship finals in a host of sporting disciplines, the Midland also provides a comprehensive programme of entertainment too, bringing music, educational displays and have-a-go features that makes for a truly fantastic day out.
